Soft lime mortar in a 1920s Knoxville bungalow and modern cement-based mortar in a Lenoir City subdivision fail in different ways, and the repair has to respect the difference. Our masons cut out deteriorated joints to a proper depth, repoint with a mix matched in color, texture, and hardness to the original, and swap out spalled or face-blown brick with reclaimed or new units. When the upper courses have shifted or the chimney has pulled away from the house, we take it down to sound masonry and rebuild.
